Expanding beyond their usual Prince and Bowie tribute parties, Golden Years has unveiled a special December event in support of two local charities' Christmas drives.
Backing Street Buffet and the Women's Community Shelters, Golden Years will set up at Hermann's Bar on December 9, with $5 from each ticket donated to the charities who help feed and house some of Sydney's most vulnerable people.
While past events have focused on the aforementioned music icons, the Christmas event will play a wide range of timeliness classics, delivered by 2ser DJs Meem and Paris Groovescooter.
"I think a lot of us could do with a solid reason to get out of our heads and cut loose every so often," Golden Years founder Penny Koutras said.
"This party is such a great opportunity to give back at the same time, especially at this time of year. It's a win-win double-high."
