A permanent tribute is to be established this month for revered Aussie musician and music journalist, Iain Shedden, who sadly passed away at the age of 60 last month.
As The Australian reports, the ARIA Awards will honour the late, great music industry figure by renaming its media suite, the Iain Shedden ARIA Media Suite, which Shedden covered many ARIAs in.
Some of the stories Shedden wrote from past ARIAs will also be displayed in the suite.
"I wish we didn’t have to do this, but it's a great way to honour his legacy for this year and for future years," ARIA Chief Executive Dan Rosen said.
Rosen continued, "He was a legend. He was a rare breed of journalist, someone who wasn't trying to always trip you up.
"He just exemplified everything you'd want in a music journalist — he loved music, he played music, and he was a great journalist — and we thought it would be a great way to honour his memory to have a lasting legacy that will hopefully inspire not just this generation but the next generation of music journalists that this is the gold standard that you should aspire to."
The 2017 ARIA Awards will take place at The Star Sydney on 28 November.
