APRA AMCOS has confirmed its Art Music Fund will return for its third go-around in 2018, with applications for funding now open.
Australian and New Zealand art music composers have the chance to share in $100,000 worth of funding to create new commissioned work that is innovative, display professional compositional craft and represents a benchmark of excellence in its field.
Previous recipients have come from a range of art music backgrounds, such as Lisa Illean, who's piece, Cantor, was recently performed at Carriageworks and Eve Klein's Vocal Womb which will have its world premiere at MONA 2018's MOFO.
"The Art Music Fund is important because it provides an avenue for contemporary art music to flourish," Klein said.
APRA AMCOS Head of Member Services, Dean Ormston, added, "It is greatly rewarding to see the Art Music Fund now in its third year and to have the work of previous recipients coming to fruition.
"APRA AMCOS is proud to support the innovative Australian and New Zealand composers of the art music sector and we look forward to seeing what comes next."
Applications close at 5pm AEDT on 20 February 2018; for more details, click here.
