Aussie EDM fans will have to wait a little longer until international touring festival Storm hits our shores, with this December’s Sydney event called off due to “adverse weather conditions” at the event’s Shanghai run last month.
Storm Music Festival Shanghai was shutdown early after organisers received a “Yellow Warning Signal” from the meteorological bureau, and that incident has had an impact on the production and operations of the Australian event.
“Our team has made the difficult decision to reschedule Storm Music Festival Australia so that we can deliver the true Storm experience for our fans,” reads a statement on the Storm Festival Facebook.
After teasing a massive line-up drop on October 18 (the festival has previously hosted RL Grime, Skrillex and more) and then going silent, promoters have apologised for the delay in communicating the bad news.
“We've been working around the clock to make the original event date work, but it is just not possible. An announcement on a rescheduled date will be made soon.”
Those who have already purchased tickets for the December 9 festival at Sydney’s Parramatta Park will receive an upgrade to VIP tickets for the rescheduled date, with punters also able to request a refund.
The only acts confirmed for the Aussie event so far are NGHTMRE and Ephwurd.
