Tributes are flowing from both the Australian and larger music community following yesterday's news that music icon and The Easybeats guitarist George Young has passed away at the age of 70.
After AC/DC penned a statement saying that without Young's "help and guidance there would not have been an AC/DC", names such as Jimmy Barnes and The Angels have paid their respects to the late artist.
"What a huge loss for music," Barnes tweeted.
"A great songwriter, producer and a great human being."
Meanwhile, longtime writing partner Harry Vanda yesterday issued a short statement that read, "Dear George, Rest in Peace my dear friend. Harry Vanda".
Meanwhile in an interview with NBN News, John Paul Young, whose 1977 hit Love Is In The Air was co-written by Young and Vanda, said Young was "basically responsible" for his career.
"Without Vanda and Young, I wouldn't have a career," the ARIA Hall Of Famer said.

Between the Easybeats and AC/DC, could make a strong case that George Young was THE original architect of Australian rock.
