In what is now an annual tradition, the 2017 Valley Fiesta will see standout Queensland singer-songwriter Amy Shark honoured with her own place on Brunswick Street Mall's Music Walk Of Fame.

She'll see her tile added to the esteemed crop of breakthrough acts who have previously been enshrined on the walk at a special ceremony as part of the annual Qld Music Awards Showcase during this month's Fiesta, featuring live performances from multi-QMA nominees Moreton — featuring the inaugural recipient of the Carol Lloyd Award, Georgia Potter — as well as emerging singer-songwriter Sarah Frank and electronic artist Zapéd, plus lauded pop outfit Morning Harvey.

Her company on the path includes last year's inductees, Violent Soho, as well as the likes of Ball Park Music, Cub Sport, Emma Louise, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, The Grates and elder statesmen such as Robert Forster, Custard, The Gin Club and more.

The tribute is more than deserved; after more than a decade in the biz, Shark broke through big-time last year with her track Adore, which went on to earn her the #2 spot on this year's triple j Hottest 100 countdown as well as multiple QMAs and Gold Coast Music Awards wins.

She's since been knocking it out of the park at every turn, hitting festival stages and playing packed-out shows galore while earning high-profile props from the likes of Tom DeLonge (with whom she maybe, possibly, could even end up collaborating) and Lena Dunham.

The broader Valley Fiesta — the city's largest free live music festival — will be held in Fortitude Valley on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 October.

The ceremony to induct Shark into the Music Walk Of Fame will be held on Saturday at 3pm, with the QMA Showcase running from 12-4pm.

Set times and more information about the Fiesta are available at the My Valley website.
