
Ashley Davies has released his sixth recorded album, aptly titled Pulse Transit.
Over the course of three decades, Davies has built a reputation as one of Australia's most innovative composers and drummers. In that time he's played on over 60 albums, recorded soundtracks for film and television and performed with various artists in Australia and internationally - experience that he has distilled into a barrelling, 32-minute instrumental exploration of time and rhythm.
Inspired by a show by Chunky Moves that seemed to function without any sense of time, Davies says, "The seed that took root in my mind was to write music that had a sense of bending time, slowing down and speeding up etc, even though its foundation was an unmovable pulse..."
