In support of his highly-anticipated memoir, Working Class Man, Jimmy Barnes has announced a special 30-date headline tour of Australia next year.
Working Class Man: An Evening Of Stories & Songs is the sequel to the Aussie legend's successful live show and first bestselling memoir, Working Class Boy, and will see Barnes travel across the country starting in March to tell his life story and perform stripped back version of his hit songs.
"In book one I faced the damage that a broken home and a broken heart can bring," Barnes said.
"In book two I face the impact that a childhood like mine can have on a man. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not blaming anyone for any of this. We all do the best with what we have. But in book two the blame rests squarely on my shoulders, and until I work a lot of things out I carry a lot of baggage around with me…
"I have done a lot of great things. I have a beautiful family and wonderful friends. But there were many times, dark times, that I almost let it all slip through my fingers. In the end I asked for help. I used to think that if someone asked for help they were weak. But the toughest thing I ever did was reach out and ask for help. And that was when I started to heal."
To coincide with the release of the new memoir, a limited edition, commemorative version of classic 1985 Cold Chisel album, For The Working Class Man will drop on 20 October.
The two-disc LP will feature re-mastered versions of the original recordings and a DVD of the band's 1984 performance at Playroom in Queensland.
General public tickets for the 2018 tour go on sale from 10am on Monday 23 October; for more details, click on theGuide.
