With just over half of the ballots returned to the Australian Bureau Of Statistics in the drawn-out mess that is the marriage equality postal survey, there's still a long way to go — about five weeks, actually — before our LGBTQI+ community is free of the indignity of having the rest of the country vote on their humanity.
To at least somewhat soften the blow, some of the nation's finest labels and musicians are uniting for a subscription mixtape called Thirty Days Of Yes to show their support for marriage equality and hopefully provide a banging soundtrack to lift some spirits over the next month.

The first single to land from the project — which features artwork by Steph Hughes — is It's Time, a previously unreleased song by Melbourne guitar-pop favourites Twerps, recorded during their sessions in 2015 while working on that year's album Range Anxiety.
According to ex-bassist Rick Milovanovic, who wrote the song, It's Time was actually written back in 2013, "during the rise of the Abbott era".
"The song was a reminder to him and his party that they would not be speaking on behalf of all straight Australians," Milovanovic said in a statement.
"Most importantly, it was also a message of support to the LGBTQI+ community that a lot of straight Australians would be right by their side in the fight for equality in this country."
Future artists involved with the project include the likes of Beaches, Body Type, Cub Sport, Courtney Barnett, DARTS, Fortunes., Hockey Dad, Jen Cloher, Jess Ribeiro, Laura Jean, Leah Senior, Lucianblomkamp, Marcus Whale, Oisima, Shining Bird, Sui Zhen, The Murlocs, Terry, Two Steps On The Water and more.
Thirty Days Of Yes has been made possible with the support of 37 Adventures, Aarght Records, Barely Dressed, Chapter Music, Farmer & The Owl, Flightless, Future Classic, Good Manners, Inertia Music, Milk! Records, [PIAS], Remote Control Records, Rice Is Nice Records, Spunk Records and more.
The mixtape is available to purchase on Bandcamp for $15 (or more, if you're feeling generous), and 100% of the profits from sales will be going to LGBTQI+ youth organisations Minus18 and Twenty10.
