Just weeks after praising 14-year-old artist Ruel, Sir Elton John has given massive wraps to another Aussie artist on his Beats 1 radio show in Alex The Astronaut.
Before playing the Sydney songwriter's latest single, Not Worth Hiding, John had some very kind words to say about Astronaut and Australian talent yesterday.
"I don't know what it is with Australia at the moment, but they keep producing the most fantastic music and the artists keep getting younger and younger and younger," he said on his Rocket Hour program.
"Here's a girl called Alex The Astronaut and it's called Not Worth Hiding. The lyrics are fabulous… it's wonderful."
Check out a video of Astronaut performing the powerful track for The Music at this month's BIGSOUND below.
Fellow Aussie acts Angus & Julia Stone, Winston Surfshirt and The Babe Rainbow were also played yesterday's Rocket Hour.
"Congratulations, you guys," John said.
"You're making such great music."
Meanwhile, John performed an intimate gig in Sydney last night which could just be the best show of the year; see our full review here.
