Some of music's biggest names featured on Australian television last night and the ratings showed that many around the country were glued to their TV's.

As TV Tonight reports, ABBA's feature on Channel Seven's Sunday Night proved to be the big winner, attracting over one million viewers and the fourth most-watched show last night.

Benny Andersson also revealed during the interview that the band are planning a hologram world tour in 2019.

Meanwhile over on Nine, 60 Minutes' interview with Foo FightersDave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins was also a hit, bringing in 730,000 viewers and the seventh most-watched program overall.

Finally, ABC's 13-episode tribute to iconic Aussie music show, Countdown, kicked off last night and drew 296,000 viewers. 

In conjunction with Classic Countdown's premiere, ABC Music released a four-CD collection of the same name on last week, featuring bona fide hits from the program's original run, including tracks from Skyhooks, Iggy Pop, Cyndi Lauper, John Farnham and more.
