Acclaimed Melburnian rapper Ivan Ooze will follow-up his gleefully received breakout mixtape, The Social Alien, with a 21-track sequel effort — fittingly titled The Social Alien 2: Memoirs From The Milky Way — later this month, announcing a four-date east-coast tour to complement the new release.
Ooze will kick off his east-coast run in Sydney before heading back home to Melbourne to play two shows — one for his over-18 fans, another for the under-18 set — and round out with a festival spot at the triumphant return of Brisbane's Sprung Festival on 28 October.
The run will boast an "entirely new" show featuring a "fresh new stage set-up" and a healthy sonic mix of influences to please as broad a palate as possible, the young rapper said in a statement.
"I have so many new songs that I am so fucking stoked to perform for everyone," he enthused. "It's a very balanced mix between stoner sing-a-longs, big bangers and straight out hip hop, and I think anyone who attends is going to be blown away by the new show."
Tickets for the upcoming tour will go on sale at 10am this coming Monday, 4 September, via Ooze's website.
The Social Alien 2 will follow a few weeks after, landing on 29 September crammed full of "dark stories, party vibes, intoxicated memories, stoner sing-alongs [and] relationship issues". Nice. Nice.
