Beloved Brisbane indie-rockers Ball Park Music have joined the ever-growing parade of bands with personalised beers to their name ahead of their headline spot at September's Beer InCider Experience at the Brisbane Showgrounds.

Crafted in collaboration with the good folk at Green Beacon Brewing, the band are the proud parents(? is that right?) of their own Pale Ale, fittingly enough called Sad Rude Future Brew, in honour of their 2011 tune Sad Rude Future Dude.

The beer will be available in both kegs and custom-made cans at a Beer InCider tap takeover at The Mill in mid-September, as well as at the event itself later in the month.

According to Beer InCider's festival director, Marty Keetels, "It wasn't a hard sell at all" to get the stalwart five-piece on board to develop their own beer.

"The band members are beer and cider lovers so they fell over themselves to create their own beer," he said in a statement. "We talked about their favourite styles and decided to create a delicious pale ale they could drink onstage.

"I know they're super-keen to test the batch."

Sad Rude Future Brew takes the number of exclusive drinks that will be available at Beer InCider up to six, alongside more than 300 other beers and ciders from more than 50 breweries and cider makers — not to mention the wide range of food on offer.

Ball Park Music will be joined by City Calm Down, Cub Sport, Butterfingers, The Hard Aches, Darren Middleton, Machine Age, Hazlett and West Texas Crude in bringing the good noise to this year's Beer InCider event.

Given that the Brissy locals were 'knee-deep' in making a new album back in May, it's probably not too optimistic to hope to hear some new tunes among the band's set, so if you're headed along, keep your ears peeled in case you're lucky enough to catch wind of what they've been up to in the studio in recent months.

It all goes down at the Brisbane Showgrounds on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September.
