Sydney has scored a brand new festival for people who just cannot shut up.
The inaugural Yack event goes down from 6-19 November at Giant Dwarf Theatre and will include appearances from some of Australia's favourite comedians, podcasters and panelists.
The festival will feature Aussie favourite comic Sam Simmons, bringing his acclaimed show A-K to Sydney for the first time, The Kates (The Katering Show, Get Krack!n), Peter Helliar, The Chaser, triple j's Zan Rowe and Myf Warhurst's first-ever live edition of their Bang On podcast and encore performances of hit shows from Dilruk Jayasinha and Damien Power.
More acts are expected to be announced in the lead up to the festival.
"Yack is a little festival of stuff we like - smart stuff, weird stuff, interesting stuff and lots of funny stuff," Token Events' Kevin Whyte and Kathleen McCarthy said.
"We want to talk to authors and filmmakers, see what the most interesting comedians are up to and give some of our favourite podcasts a live audience.
"In future years we are hoping to get ahead of ourselves, lose sight of what made it interesting in the first place and spawn a Yack Fringe in response to our own inevitable decline."
