There are new rumours going around that Powderfinger will again reunite this weekend at Maroochy Music & Visual Arts Festival (MMVAF) and we blame you, Splendour In The Grass.

Just a month after the Aussie legends reformed on stage in Byron Bay, there is fresh speculation that they'll go around again during frontman Bernard Fanning's set tomorrow night.

As Sunshine Coast Daily reports, ABC presenter and Powderfinger drummer, Jon Coghill, who was surprisingly left out of the Splendour reunion, dismissed the rumours this morning.

"No, it's not happening," Coghill said.

"I'm pretty sure it's not. They would've told me this time."

MMVAF organiser James Birrell said of the speculation, "All I can say is fingers crossed".

Fanning's management declined to comment when contacted by The Music.

Others set to play at MMVAF tomorrow include Alison Wonderland, The Presets, Gang Of Youths, Horrorshow, Anna Of The North, Northeast Party House and more.
