That Bag Raiders 'Shooting Stars' Meme Is In The New Katy Perry Clip & It's Incredible

If you thought that Bag Raiders Shooting Stars meme was dead and buried, think again. 

As spotted by The Industry Observer, the 10-20 seconds of internet glory has been reborn thanks to Katy Perry, who performs her own rendition of the meme in the music video for her single, Swish Swish, which already has over 11 million views.

It shouldn't be a surprise that it is used in the clip though, considering it is filled with popular meme references, as well as a number of celebrity cameos, including Terry Crews and Molly Shannon. 

So popular was the Bag Raiders meme in its prime, it catapulted the Sydney duo into the global market, with the 2009-released track and their 2010 debut album both debuting in the US charts earlier this year. 

Speaking to The Music in March, Bag Raiders' Chris Stracey said of the viral meme, "When I first started seeing it pop up like that I was like, oh no, here we go, we're the new Rick Rolled or something like that, people are gonna be really annoyed by it.

"But it's actually been the opposite. We've found that lots of people are just discovering us for the first time, which is so awesome.

"We're always working on new music. It's a nice thing to have eyes on the project so when it's time to release the next thing, then people are aware."
