Cold Chisel To Play First Show In Tasmania Since 2011 To Launch New Live Album

Legendary Australian rockers Cold Chisel will make their eagerly awaited return to Tasmania for their first show in the state in more than five years this November to launch a new live album recorded during their 2015 'One Night Stand' tour.

Tassie was left off the calendar during that historic tour, so the band's upcoming gig at Hobart's Wrest Point Lawns on Weednesday 22 November is a fitting make-up gesture from the veteran local band, who haven't played in the state since 2011's Light The Nitro tour. The band will be joined by Melbourne rock outfit Dallas Crane in support.

"We tried everything to get to Tassie in 2015, but events and schedules conspired against us," guitarist Ian Moss said in a statement. "We owe you one, Tasmania — and now it's payback time!"

The impending album, which boasts the rather unwieldy but very descriptive title The 'Last Stand' Of The Sydney Entertainment Centre — The Live Tapes — Volume 4, was recorded over two nights at the iconic venue just prior to its demolition, the performances being remembered as particularly emotionally charged and off the hook as a result of their historic significance.

It will be released in the lead-up to the launch show, on Friday 10 November, in a variety of formats, including a three-CD set, a four-LP vinyl set and a limited-edition three-CD/DVD set, as well as digitally and on all streaming services.

If you're a member of Cold Chisel's email subscriber base, you'll have early access to a ticket presale (10am, Wednesday 30 August) before passes are made available to the general public at midday on Monday 4 September, details for which will be sent out ahead of the event. A Ticketmaster presale will also be held from 10am on Thursday 31 August.
