The picturesque locale of Burleigh Heads will come alive with the sounds of music this October when the inaugural Hey Sunshine festival rolls into town.
Held at Burleigh Brewing Co. on Saturday 14 October, the festival will boast the talents of revered local and interstate outfits including The Belligerents, Bootleg Rascal, Galaxy Girls, The Cinema Wristys, Peach Fur, Borneo and Thunder Fox as well as pop-up arts collective The Wonky Queenslander, who'll be keeping the tunes flowing in-between live acts.
Kicking off at 3pm, the event will also include a series of surf-film projections by local surf filmmakers, as well as a live art feature (to be raffled off for charity) and market stalls, providing a broad array of entertainment in service of lifting up the Gold Coast's musical culture as well as punters' spirits.
"Live music events are so enriching to a community's vigour and vibrancy, and I'm really excited to be adding Hey Sunshine to the flourishing Gold Coast music space," festival director Anthea Bennett said in a statement.
Tickets for the festival are available now via the Hey Sunshine website. Early-bird passes are only $40, with general release tickets set to go at $50.
