An unknown Brisbane singer's cover of iconic Aussie track Down Under is set to feature as the theme song for an upcoming season of Wolf Creek; a spin-off TV series of the popular horror franchise.
As ABC reports, Sabrina Schultz was contacted by a music company two weeks ago asking to buy the rights to the Men At Work cover, recorded on YouTube, which she filmed in her bedroom a year ago.
"I was on the phone to my mum," the 20-year-old said.
"Because I was on the train, I couldn't scream with excitement. I was going, 'Can you please research this person because we have to know if this is real.'"
Schultz continued, "It's just a hobby for myself — it wasn't like I want to perform in front of big crowds — like you can see in the video, I'm just in my bedroom."
The cover will appear on season two of Wolf Creek, to screen on Aussie streaming service Stan, set for release this summer.
While Men At Work frontman Colin Hay has approved of the cover, the university student is now preparing to release the cover on iTunes to coincide with the season's release.
