A number of Sydney's favourites craft breweries are teaming up this year for the first ever Oktoberwest.
As part of Sydney Beer Week, the Factory Theatre in Marrickville will play host to the inaugural event on 22 October, which will feature specialty brews, live music, DJs, games and more.
A specially-curated line of brews from venues such as Young Henrys, Willie The Boatman, Wayward Brewing Co,The Grifter Brewing Co, Batch Brewing Co, Sauce Brewing Co, and Malt Shovel Brewery will be on hand for those heading along to Oktoberwest, which will also mark the official launch of the Inner West Brewery Association.
"The Inner West is now the heartland of craft brewing not just in Sydney but I believe in Australia, and I’m very proud of that fact," MP Shadow Minister for Tourism, Anthony Albanese, said.
Meanwhile, Wayward Brewing Co founder and President of the Inner West Brewery Association, Peter Philip, said, "The Inner West is the new craft brewing capital of Australia and Oktoberwest is set to become the premier beer festival for showcasing the fantastic beers being produced here, add to that the amazing local bands we have lined up and you've got the recipe for one of Australia's best beer festivals".
