Tassie-based outfit The Sleepyheads have signed with local punk-and-surrounds indie label Penultimate Records ahead of their debut EP (re-)release and a seven-date national tour next month.

Having cut their teeth in support of acts such as The Front Bottoms, Frenzal Rhomb, Camp Cope, Bukowski and more, the band are ready to set off for a string of headline outings that will take them from Launceston to stages in Hobart, Brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney and Melbourne before returning to Launceston for a final all-ages gig at Off Center on 30 September.

That run will be preceded with a pair of support shows for Lincoln Le Fevre — one in Hobart, one in Launceston — and is bookended by another Launceston gig (to support AJJ) and a spot at October's Til The Wheels Fall Off event with Luca Brasi, Camp Cope, Bad//Dreems, The Bennies and more.

The new deal with Penultimate sees The Sleepyheads join the likes of Bukowski and Brightr among their release ranks, with the band set to drop their debut EP, Cold Hands Hold It Together — which they self-released back in March — through the label in the midst of their sojourn, on 12 September.

Tickets for the band's headline tour will be available on the door at their respective venues. See theGuide for full details.
