Australian Music Week is upping the ante for its showcasing artists this year, announcing a new music prize where the winner will get to record at one of the country's best studios.

The annual music conference will kick-start one lucky act's career with a prize package that includes getting to record, mix and master a single at the iconic Studios 301 which will then be distributed by MGM.

The winners will also not only get to perform at AMW 2017, but will also score their own single launch shows, radio servicing and promotion.

"We're really excited to partner with AMW on this to provide a genuine opportunity for a band to kick-start their career," Studios 301 Operations Manager, Ron Haryanto, told The Music.

"The recording process takes a lot of hard work but the part that happens next, including navigating through the industry and getting your music in front of people, is probably one of the hardest parts for a band/ artist to do.

"For all of us to be collaborating to give a band this kind of opportunity is great."

Artist applications for AMW 2017 will close at 10am on Monday 21 August.

Some of the artists confirmed to performing at the Sydney-based conference this November includes William Crighton, Mama Kin, Liam Gerner, Crystal Cities and The Go Set.
