Influential rapper Nathaniel "The Kidd Creole" Glover Jr has been arrested and charged with murder, according to TMZ.

Famed for his work in Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Glover reportedly stabbed 55-year-old homeless man John Jolly in New York on Tuesday night after an altercation.

Jolly passed away in hospital a short time later and Glover was taken into custody after police identified him via surveillance footage.

According to New York Times, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has been charged with second-degree murder.

Glover appeared on both Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five studio LPs in the '80s which produced singles It's NastyThe Message, Scorpio and more.
