Newcastle's This That Festival returns for its third turn at bat this November, and organisers have pulled together a seriously high-quality line-up of the country's best beat-makers and tunesmiths to please punters' ears for another year.
Leading the charge are some serious drawcards, including Canadian duo Zeds Dead and established local festival favourites such as Alison Wonderland, The Preatures, The Presets, Crooked Colours and Thundamentals as well as rising stars like Tash Sultana, Paces, Winston Surfshirt, Kuren, Golden Vessel, Motez and more.
In addition to the excellent sounds on offer, This That will be home to a diversity of similarly next-level cuisines — including an entire enclave dedicated to Japanese deliciousness — to sate your stomachs, along with cocktails, small-batch breweries and pop-up wineries to help you wash down the edible delights.
If you're looking for something more cerebral, "uber chill zone" The Other ought to keep you happy, which this year includes new symbiotic art-and-music space The Imaginarium, a collaboration — only ever seen once before, at MONA FOMA — between Ribongia's live instrumentation and EGO's production and audio-visual style.
Or, you can please your inner capitalist by perusing the goods on offer at the Hunt & Gather markets, back again to help round out the splendid cultural smorgasbord.
This That 2017 will be held at its new home of Wickham Park on Saturday 14 November.
A ticket presale will kick off for This That members from 9am AEST this Thursday, 3 August. General public passes go on sale from 9am local time next Monday, 7 August.
