Delegate registrations for SXSW 2018 kick off this week and for any local looking to head to Texas next year, it would be a smart move to check out some meet-up events taking place in the next two days.

As we reported earlier this month, a Sydney meet and greet will go ahead at the Lansdowne Hotel tomorrow, while the Corner Hotel in Melbourne will host its own event on Wednesday; an ideal opportunity to hear from some SXSW veterans who will provide tips on strategy, preparation, networking, what not to do and more.

The Sydney event will feature names such as Rapid's director of technology Dan White, Secret Sounds Touring promoter Marc Sousley (ex-C3 Presents) and Sounds Australia's export music producer Glenn Dickie, while the Melbourne function will include talks from Noise11 executive producer Paul Cashmere, Pause Festival founder and director George Hedon and The Music's very own Leigh Treweek.

Badge registration and hotel reservations for SXSW will be open from 12.01am on Wednesday. Punters are being advised to get in fast as over 150 of the eventual 750 Aussie delegates register on the very first day.
