Some of Australia's best and reputable composers and performers have today been announced as finalists in this year's Art Music Awards.

A slew of big names and previous winners feature in the 2017 list including Paul Grabowsky, Katie Noonan, Paul Stanhope, Cat Hope, Iain Grandage, Andrea Keller, Andrew Ford and 2016 dual winner Kate Neal.

In addition to the artists, a number or organisations have also been recognised this year, such as Moorambilla Voices, Tura New Music, Speak Percussion (who took out the Award for Excellence in Experimental Music in 2016), the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

"Australia's art music community is creating and presenting extraordinary work," APRA AMCOS Chief Executive, Brett Cottle said.

"We're thrilled to be partnering with the AMC on the 7th Art Music Awards, and I congratulate all the 2017 finalists."

The 2017 Art Music Awards will take place on Tuesday 22 August at the City Recital Hall.
