Following last week's debut solo release for his single, Don't Tell MeUniversal Music Publishing Australia (UMPG) has announced it has signed Ruel on a global deal. 

The 14-year-old stunned everyone with his performance on triple j's Like A Version last month and his status is quickly rising in the Australian music scene.

"This is a very special signing for us," Vice President of Creative, UMPG Australia and New Zealand, Arwen Curson, said.

"It's an honour not only to welcome Ruel into our family, but to feel warmly welcomed into his. Ruel is an incredibly talented young writer and artist with a long and successful career ahead of him.

"We couldn’t be more excited to be part of the team that will help him achieve those, what we believe to be, inevitable goals on a world stage."

Meanwhile, Ruel said of the announcement, "So excited to be working with the Universal Music Publishing team and can't wait to keep writing more music with new people!"

Having already supported US artist Gallant on some shows earlier this year, Ruel will next support Angus & Julia Stone on their sold-out national tour this September.
