To coincide with the release of his brand new single and accompanying music video, Lay It On MeVance Joy has announced he will return to Australia later this year for two exclusive headline shows.

As well as performing at this weekend's Splendour In The Grass and Spilt Milk Festival, the ARIA Award-winning songwriter will play Melbourne's Forum Theatre and Sydney's Enmore Theatre in November.

The two gigs will mark Joy's first headline dates in the country since last April's sold-out Fire & The Flood tour.

Last year's triple j Unearthed High competition winner Gretta Ray has been confirmed as the support act for both concerts.

Meanwhile, Lay It On Me is the first taste of new music from Joy since his critically-acclaimed 2014 debut LP, Dream Your Life Away.

"I had this guitar riff I had been playing for ages but had never found a home for," Joy says of the track.

"When it was glued together with a lyric I had in my phone, 'everything starts at your skin', the song started to make sense."

The stunning cinematic music video sees Joy performing alongside US actress and Westworld star, Angela Sarafyan.
