With his new album, Weight Falls, due out this August, folk-rock artist Kim Churchill will embark on an extensive Australian tour this year.
Kicking off in Newcastle in September, the run will see Churchill perform over a month's worth of shows, with gigs scheduled in for Wollongong, Canberra, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Melbourne, Ballarat, Belgrave, Adelaide, Hobart, Launceston, Fremantle, Bunbury, Dunsborough, Sydney, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Brisbane.
Written over 18 months, Churchill made the decision to scrap everything and start over as the material didn't feel quite right.
"I worked really hard on the follow-up record for a long time," Churchill said of the forthcoming LP.
"And it sounded good. But some very subtle layer of my consciousness was saying to me, ‘It’s not all that inspiring.'"
The Canberra-born artist has since dropped two singles from the record — check out the latest, Second Hand Car, below.
