After showing off his theatre chops this year, Phil Jamieson is set to do it all over again and perform with the Australian cast of the Green Day musical, American Idiot, at the 2017 Helpmann Awards.
The Grinspoon frontmen will take to the stage at Sydney's Capitol Theatre next month along with his cast mates to perform 21 Guns.
Jamieson shared the role of St Jimmy with The Living End frontman Chris Cheney in the acclaimed musical, which received rave reviews following its premiere in Brisbane this past February.
The night will also feature performances from the cast of The Book Of Mormon, Kinky Boots, Disney's Aladdin, My Fair Lady and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, featuring former Eurovision contestant Dami Im and show star, Esther Hannaford.
"This is the largest group of performers we have ever had at the Helpmann Awards," executive producer Jon Nicholls said.
"It certainly promises to be the live performance industry’s night of nights."
The news follows this month's nominations announce, which nods given to names like Flume, Adele, Missy Higgins and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, as well as comedians Hannah Gadsby, Tom Ballard, Nazeem Hussain and more.
The 2017 Helpmann Awards will be broadcast live on the Foxtel Arts channel on Monday 24 July.
