Lorde has finally done what so many in the last few weeks have failed to do — knock Ed Sheeran off top spot on the ARIA Albums chart.

As midweek figures predicted, the New Zealand artist's second studio album Melodrama has debuted at #1, pushing Sheeran's ÷ (Divide) down to #2, while she has also taken out her second Aussie top-charting LP on the back of 2013's Pure Heroine, which peaked at #1.

Lorde's sophomore record has also enjoyed some big success in the UK, debuting at #5 on the Top 100 Albums chart.

Nickelback have met midweek predictions too, as their ninth LP, Feed The Machine, has debuted at #3, just ahead of Royal Blood's new effort, How Did We Get So Dark?, at #4.

The Albums chart has a few other new names featured this week, including Fleet FoxesCrack-Up at #10, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit's The Nashville Sound at #30 and Hey Violet's From The Outside at #67.

Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee have made it six straight weeks at #1 on the Singles chart with Despacito, featuring Justin Bieber, just beating out chart movers and One Direction members, Liam Payne's Strip That Down, featuring Quavo, and Niall Horan's Slow Hands, at #2 and #3 respectively.

DJ Khaled's Wild Thoughts, featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller, has exceeded midweek predictions of a top 15 finish, instead debuting comfortably inside the top ten at #4.
