The operators of a Sydney nightclub made the call to close its doors early last night after some of its patrons suffered suspected drug overdoses.

A statement released by police earlier this morning states that they and emergency services were called to the Darling Harbour venue at around 1.30am to treat six people, two males and four females, all in their 20s.

Fairfax have reported that five of the six patrons were taken to hospital to be treated for suspected drug overdoses and are in a stable condition.

Management cleared the nightclub to cooperate with the emergency services.

Police are now investigating the incident.
