Little Splendour Returns In 2017 'Coz Families Who Slay Together Stay Together

Splendour In The Grass may seem, at a glance, like an adults-only playground, but it's been angling itself as an increasingly family-friendly space over the past several years, and the return of stalwart zone Little Splendour continues that tradition in 2017.

A place for parents to drop off their evidently cool children away from the free-for-all of the wider festival grounds, Little Splendour caters to kids from the littlest of babies to the most scornful of tweens, with separate zones for the very different strains of young'uns who make the trek to the event with their olds.

The general area is open from 10am-5pm on Friday through Sunday, but Little Splendour also features a Giant Tipi in the "Little Kidz Zone", giving folks a place to feed, change and recharge through till midnight each day.

The Little Kidz Zone also has the requisite accompaniments to keep your small humans entertained, including jumping castles, mini-parks, sandpits, dress-ups and the "Artie Fartie Partie", for the more creative tykes out there.

Meanwhile, for the Big Kidz, their zone includes sport, games, also a jumping castle (because you're never too old to enjoy a good bouncy house), face-painting, art and craft, and oversize board games.

Little Splendour also serves as both babysitter — there are trained teachers and child-carers on hand to look after kids in two-hour blocks from noon till midnight (bookings essential for those under 4) — and supply hub, with parents able to stock up on coffee at the Moonshine Roasters stall before picking up a Rock & Roller Wagon to help dragging your child across the North Byron Parklands more pleasurable for all of you.

Splendour In The Grass runs from Friday 21 through Sunday 23 July, featuring a massive line-up headed up by The xx, Queens Of The Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, Royal Blood, Haim, Sigur Ros and more.
