Establishing itself as an integral part of the WA music calendar over the past six years, Hidden Treasures Winter Music Series will return in July, bring with it a snapshot of the state’s booming creative scene.
The intimate and unique confines of beloved long-running venues The Navy Club, Buffalo Club, Packenham St Art Space, The Orient and National Hotel will host live music every Thursday throughout the month, with a slew of emerging, established and reforming acts lighting up the West End.
‘70s rockers Wayne Green & The Phantoms will take to the stage again, as will The Neptunes to celebrate their 30th Anniversary, alongside buzzing newcomers Rag N Bone and grunge favourites The Love Junkies.
This year’s event will also see the Fremantle Tram turn into a venue, hosting local legends Lucy Peach, Timothy Nelson, Steve Parkin and more.
“I love the way Hidden Treasures draws together such a diverse range of music lovers from all over Western Australia,” Fremantle Mayor Brad Pettitt – appear as a guest DJ – said.
“Veteran music fans are exposed to brand new acts and younger punters get to experience the local heroes of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. This community-building element alone makes Hidden Treasures an incredibly valuable part of Fremantle’s cultural calendar.”
