Perth-bred melodic hardcore quintet Vacant Home may only have been around for a handful of months, but they've already secured a worldwide deal with US indie label Mutant League Records to release their debut EP, Reflect, Respond.
The Chicago-based Mutant League was formed five years ago by Nate Steinheimer (formerly of post-hardcore crew Rosaline). In that time, it's gone on to release albums for cult-favourite outfits such as The Movielife, Allister and Home Grown — all of whom were one-time signees to early-2000s punk/hardcore powerhouse Drive-Thru Records — as well as Seaway, Lucky Boys Confusion and more. The label has distribution partnerships in place with Sony RED and Victory Records.
Vacant Home have made a swift and significant impact in their home town, where they've outgrown their house-show roots to go on to support the likes of Stick To Your Guns, Deez Nuts, House Vs Hurricane, Knocked Loose and Saviour in just a few short months.
Their debut single, Shiver, has attracted more than 350,000 views since it was uploaded in October to the YouTube channel of Dreambound, which specialises in promoting emergent melodic acts (and clearly do a good job of it, eh).
They've since followed it up with a new single, Bliss, and are making plans to set off for a tour of their own in the near future.
Reflect, Respond will be released worldwide on Friday 16 June via Mutant League Records.
Immediately afterwards, they've got a run of support shows for Newcastle's Eat Your Heart Out (themselves recent dealmakers, with Fearless Records picking them up in early April), kicking off with a record release show at Perth's 459 Bar on Saturday 17 June. They'll also hit stages in Adelaide, Melbourne, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, the Central Coast, and Brisbane.
