It’s been a whirlwind few months for Queensland duo Busby Marou, topped off with the release of a captivating music video to coincide with ANZAC Day commemorations.
The clip for Paint This Land – taken from their #1 album Postcards From The Shell House – sees the roots/rock act team up with directors Wayne Blair (The Sapphires, Cleverman) and Kate Halpin for a visually stunning effort that features actor and Blair’s father, Bob Blair, a Vietnam war veteran a the first Aboriginal Regimental Sergeant Major in Australia.
"I feel we have played our important role not just acknowledging our war veterans but going a step further and paying special homage to Indigenous men and women who serve our country,” said Tom Busby.
“The song acknowledges our powerful indigenous culture and celebrates our future. Working with Wayne Blair and watching the song and its message come to life through the power of film is without a doubt, our finest moment as a band,” added Jeremy Marou.
The clip also features a mural from revered Sydney street artist Hego, who is set to release a documentary his Black Anzac documentary in the near future.
Busby Marou hit the road next month on an extensive national tour. Check out theGuide for all the details.
