
APRA AMCOS's annual Personal Development Awards have announced that applications have opened — and this year, will include a brand new dance/electronic category.
The nine categories will each award $15,000 to the winners to support their development, in genres such as jazz, classical, popular contemporary, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and country.
APRA AMCOS's Dean Ormston says, "We’re committed to developing the next generation of music creators.
"Our Professional Development Awards provide tangible support to members looking to take the next steps in their songwriting careers."
Past winners of the PDAs include country rocker Morgan Evans, Husky Gawenda, Abbe May and Ngaiire.
Applications are now open and close on 27 April.
