Burgeoning Aussie artist Amy Shark has today been announced as the headline act for the Gold Coast Music Awards' free live music event this April.
The songwriter will perform in her hometown under the iconic Surfers Paradise sign on Thursday, 27 April alongside fellow locals, Hanlon Brothers, Aquila Young and Yes Sir Noceur.
The news comes just days after Shark's hit track Adore surged up the ARIA Singles chart to land at #3, following her success in triple j's Hottest 100.
"I'm so excited to play for the Gold Coast Music Awards," Shark said.
"I think it's going to be so much fun and I can’t believe how much it's blown up, it's just ridiculous.
"It's gone from the back of Burleigh to the beach at Surfers Paradise. It's just what we needed."
Now in its third year, the GCMA will stage its first free live event which is expected to attract a crowd of over 3000.
Nominations for the awards, which include Breakout Artist of the Year, Venue and Live Music Event, Song, Video, Album and Artist Of The Year, are open for voting now and close on 10 March.
GCMA finalists will be announced on 30 March.
