Last week’s Hottest 100 results have seen a number of artists leap up the ARIA Singles Chart, led by Gold Coast musician Amy Shark’s Adore scoring a prime position at #3, and Melbourne favourite Tash Sultana soaring back into the Albums Chart.
Shark’s #2 placing on the annual triple j countdown saw her leap up to #13 on the Aus charts last weekend, only blocked this round by UK superstar Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill singles, which claimed #1 and #2 respectively.
Sultana’s Notion EP soared from #74 last week to crack the Albums Chart top 10 this week and reach a new peak of #8, while Jungle (#3 on the Hottest 100) leapt from #83 to #39.
Having taken out first place in the Hottest 100, Flume’s Never Be Like You, featuring Kai, moved up to from #54 to #18 while his Tove Lo collab, Say It, jumps to #43 – and LP Skin gets a bump on the Albums Chart next to fellow dance maestros Pnau, who break the top five with Chameleon (#4).

Other Hottest 100 collaborations making waves on the Singles Chart include Peking Duk’s Stranger featuring Elliphant and Illy’s Catch 22 featuring Anne-Marie holding steady at #12 and #40 respectively, while Illy’s Vera Blue hit, Papercuts (#46) and Hilltop Hoods’ Montaigne and Tom Thum single, 1955 (#50), also shift.
A handful of international favourites also received a bump as a result of the Hottest 100, as Milky Chance crack the top 10 with Cocoon (moving up 15 places from #25), Mura Masa’s Love$Ick featuring A$ap Rocky sits within the top 20 (#15) and Childish Gambino’s Redbone (#30) and Sofi Tukker’s Drinkee (#42) see positive movement.
There have also been re-entries from Miike Snow, Drake and Desiigner as a result of triple j’s annual countdown.
Although not appearing on the Singles Chart, Aussie punk rockers Violent Soho bounced up the Albums Chat with Waco (#36), while Glass Animals – who had Youth and Life Itself in countdown – re-entered the charts, alongside The Avalanches’ Wildflower, with three of its songs in the Hottest 100 — their Since I Left You album also reappeared at #15.
Rufus’ Bloom enjoyed a slight Albums Chart rise following their triple j success as did Hilltop Hoods’ Drinking From The Sun, Walking Under Stars Restrung.
Other notable Albums Chart figures come from Kasey Chambers’ Dragonfly (#2) and rising local country star Aleyce Simmonds debuting at #25 with More Than Meets The Eye.
