This morning we revealed Groovin The Moo's super-strong line-up for its 2017 edition, featuring internationals like Against Me!, Dillon Francis and The Wombats, and it seems some of our locals are just as excited about the April/May run.
ARIA-winning rock lords Violent Soho were actually trying to tee up a cricket match with glam metal favourites The Darkness — until The Smith Street Band wanted in on the fun.
@thedarkness hey dudes, you fancy a game of cricket during @groovinthemoo ? #ashes2017/18

@violentsoho @groovinthemoo @thedarkness I look a bit like peak era Shane Warne, reckon I could get a bowl?

Then, UK hardcore heavyweights Architects got thrown into the mix.
"Soho and Smithies -vs- Darkness and Architects ?? #ashes2017", The Smith Street Band write.
@violentsoho @groovinthemoo @thedarkness Soho and Smithies -vs- Darkness and @Architectsuk ?? #ashes2017

Good sports Groovin The Moo have given the sporting extravaganza their stamp of approval with a simple, "This IS happening. You've got 3 months to train."
Now we just have to wait for The Darkness and Architects to jump onboard.
@violentsoho @smithstband @thedarkness @Architectsuk GUYS. This IS happening. You've got 3 months to train.

@groovinthemoo @violentsoho @thedarkness @Architectsuk has GTM ever had 4 bands headline the main stage, playing cricket instead of music?
— The Smith St Band (@smithstband) January 31, 2017
@smithstband @violentsoho That might be pushing it, @thedarkness & @Architectsuk haven't even agreed to the first game yet
