Aussie folk maestros The Waifs have released the second single from their upcoming 25th anniversary LP, Ironbark.
After dropping Song That Soothes earlier this month to coincide with a tour announcement, they’ve unleashed the album’s title track, giving another raw look into the band.
Making it 25 years in the industry is a massive feat, but not being a band to rest on their laurels, they’re marking the celebration with not only an extensive tour but also a 25-track studio album as a bonus thank you to fans.
“25 years is a long time in the life of a band, but not in the life of an Ironbark tree,” said Josh Cunningham
“Resilient and enduring it stands strong through the changing seasons, surviving hardship and adversity, all the while contributing something beautiful and positive to the world.”
The intimate release was recorded in a makeshift studio in an unfinished kitchen across two weeks.
Ironbark drops March 3, with the band’s tour commencing the night previous at Perth Concert Hall.
