US-based, Australia-born musician Hazel English will return to her birth country to play her debut shows Down Under in the new year.
The Californian indie-pop songstress will make her maiden outings in Sydney — at The Newsagency — and Melbourne, for a free show at The Curtin, getting 2017 under way on a summery southern note and providing an apt starting point from which to follow up her busy year of touring and writing throughout 2016.
English has enjoyed a swift uptick in her renown over the past 12 months, aided greatly by her five-track extended player Never Going Home, the contents of which were released individually before being packaged together into a single piece of output.
From the outset, it showed she was onto something with her introspective, infectious compositions, turning heads online and on-air alike, picking up notice from the likes of Stereogum, triple j and BBC Radio 1 for tracks such as Make It Better and Control.
Hazel English's Never Going Home EP is out now via Inertia.
