Respected Australian troubadour Dan Sultan has had to cancel a pair of scheduled shows on his freshly started Magnetic tour to attend to an "unexpected personal emergency".

The celebrated singer-songwriter broke the news on social media this afternoon, explaining that he would no longer be able to make his previously scheduled commitments in Brisbane and Adelaide this Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

"Dan Sultan and band sincerely apologises to all of his fans in Brisbane and Adelaide, and hope to make it up to them in the very near future," the post read.

Refunds for both shows are available at the point of purchase; Sultan's shows in Melbourne (13 November) and Sydney (19 November) remain unaffected and will go ahead.
