NWA co-founder DJ Yella and the son of his contemporary Eazy-E, Lil Eazy-E, have announced a pair of Australian shows for this December.

Yella and Eazy jr will hit both coasts on their brief Australian sojourn, which so far comprises just the two shows — one at Perth's Metro City, the other at the Warners Bay Hotel in Newcastle.

The trip comes in the (non-immediate, but still relevant) wake of lauded biopic Straight Outta Compton, which charted the rise of the seminal gangsta-rap ensemble and landed last year to global critical and audience praise. Yella also returned to the world of recorded music after 12 years of pursuing a career as a director and producer of pornography, making his comeback with 2012 LP West Coastin'.

Lil E has been pursuing music for about a decade, dropping his first mixtapes in 2006, but has only been seriously making a go of it for the past few years, he says: "[Rapping] is something that I was born with, but I got into it two years ago," he said in a statement.

"It's just an option I made two years ago, and it was a natural talent, so I decided to just go with it."

DJ Yella and Lil E will be joined in Newcastle by DJ J-Smoove & MC Bones, DJ Benny B, Gomez Atoms, Talakai, DJ Mac Da Villain & LCD, and DJ Standing Ovation. Supports have not been announced for Metro City's show.

Tickets for the shows go on sale from 9am tomorrow, 28 October, via Oztix.
