UPDATE: A new show has been added at The Gasometer Hotel, Melbourne on Feb 2.

Virginia-based indie-rock upstarts Car Seat Headrest have bolstered their impending maiden visit to Australia for next year's Laneway Festival with a pair of standalone shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

The band — really the project of central member Will Toledo, who at 23 years of age already boasts an oeuvre that would make more established artists weep with envy — will hit up the Oxford Art Factory with special guest Jarrow, heading south to The Curtin, where they play with Terrible Truths.

Though Toledo is still under 25 and his band is only a six-year concern to date, the man had amassed a back-catalogue that was creeping into double digits before signing with esteemed label Matador Records back in 2014. He released the introductory compilation Teens Of Style on Matador last year, following it up in May with his first official studio album of new material, Teens Of Denial.

That release has steered him through the now-typically buzz-filled few months since, ultimately buoying he and his band-mates to their eagerly awaited debut appearance not only at Laneway but at these newly announced headline shows.

Tickets for both shows will go on sale from 10am AEDT this Friday, 28 October, via Moshtix (Sydney) and Oztix (Melbourne).
