Having spent the last 12 months touring around the country at least five times over and taking in 90 shows, rock trio Thirsty Merc are showing no signs of slowing down, this week announcing a massive tour that will see them on the road until Autumn 2017.
Following on from their 2015-released fourth studio LP, Shifting Gears, the WA outfit will kick off the tour this weekend at the Caloundra Music Festival, before moving on to play a number of shows throughout Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia and Victoria.
2015 was a trying year for the veteran outfit who were rocked by the tragic death of their friend and stage manager Shane Cooper in a car accident, which also left drummer Mick Skeleton with serious injuries.
"Our hugest thanks to the Aussie Music Industry, the general Music Community, and above all - our Fans - for the support over the last year," frontman Rai Thistlethwayte said.
"Thank you ALL for sticking by us. Life can be so overwhelming and debilitatingly challenging, but it’s through those times that you often experience the most human growth. We’ve got the spirit. And we’re gonna rock these upcoming shows like never before to bring this album home!"
