Matt Corby and Peking Duk lead one of the most impressive lineups the Sunshine Coast has ever seen for Maroochy Music and Visual Arts Festival (MMVAF) 2016.

Returning with gusto on Saturday September 10, MMVAF promises an immersive arts experience alongside a natural ampitheatre mainstage at the old Horton Park Golf Course.

This destination event is building on solid foundations in its second year with a huge array of leading Aussie lights on the bill.

Fresh off the back of the release of his debut album Telluric, Matt Corby is set to lull the ampi into a frenzy, playing newbies like 'Knife Edge' and trademarks like 'Resolution'. Famous for both for their on-stage and off-stage antics, aussie dance music's biggest party boys Peking Duk are bringing the beats and continuing the party vibe, Australia's fave 'chubby boy' from Adelaide, Allday will be in attendance with his signature cheeky hip-hop. Following her 2014 smash-hit 'Talk Talk' and Vacant Space EP, George Maple is back in 2016 with a brand new banger 'Sticks and Horses' and a huge new show that's sure to impress. Dynamic duo Client Liaison have been selling out shows across the country, now they transfer their 80s inspired spectacle from the club to the ampi stage. These leading aussie acts are joined by rising stars City Calm Down, Ngaiire, Boo Seeka, Bad//Dreems, Vera Blue & Pop Cult.

With one huge ampitheatre main stage dotted with comfy couches, there's no clashes and no reason to miss that favourite act.

For those who like their bubbly sweet and their oysters shucked, MMVAF's Champagne & Oyster Garden is a cultural oasis and a great place to discover that new favourite band. With local talent like jazz-pop chanteuse Inigo, futuristic shoegaze duo Forevr and Melbourne punk rockers BATZ, it's an eclectic mix and the perfect accompaniment to a classy afternoon/evening jaunt.

MMVAF puts the VA in Visual Arts and 2016 will be no exception with a huge, specially commissioned work by renowned installation artist Amanda Parer to be unveiled on the day. Her giant, luminous work is part of the 'Fantastic Planet' series and will debut at MMVAF before touring around the globe.

Known usually for her musical abilities, Bertie Blackman is back at MMVAF again for the second year, showcasing her work. A myriad of visual artists join Bertie and Amanda to complement the festival's trademark rolling greens, diving right into the fantastical, the surreal, and the magical explorations of the universe.

Set to draw thousands north from Brisbane and interstate, MMVAF provides huge exposure for host destination Sunshine Coast.

The Queensland Government is proud to support the Maroochy Music and Visual Arts Festival through Tourism and Events Queensland as part of the It's Live! in Queensland events calendar, showcasing Australia’s best live events in Australia’s best destinations.
