Venerated US punk-rockers Strung Out are just over halfway through their current epic tour of Australia, but fans planning on attending any of their next three shows - all taking place in Melbourne - are in for a treat of the highest order as the band will be busting out a classic album per night, in full.
Kicking off with tonight's show at Village Green, Mulgrave, the veteran outfit will perform their seminal LP Suburban Teenage Wasteland Blues, which incidentally turns 20 years old this year, with support from Bombs Are Falling; following that, on Saturday night, 19 March, Strung Out will fill out the Corner Hotel with the sounds of equally iconic full-length Twisted By Design (1998), with support from Laura Palmer; and they'll bring the album showcases to a close at Geelong's Barwon Club on Sunday 20 March with 2004's broadly acclaimed Exile In Oblivion (Japan For will handle support duties at that show).
If you're not in Melbourne, don't fret too hard - though you'll miss out on hearing albums in full, you'll be treated to tracks from across Strung Out's long and storied history while they navigate the back half of their current run, with shows yet to go down in Warrnambool, Hobart, Launceston, Newcastle West, Bateau Bay, Wollongong and Bunbury.
