Since it’s inception in 2012, GABS has become a widely anticipated and revered food and beverage festival, ranking in the top 20 beer festivals around the world. Craft beer and cider lovers and people interested in learning more about craft beer and cider will be catered for with an exquisite selection hand-picked by the creators of the event, Steve and Guy.

Celebrating the best artisan breweries and cideries, 150 specially brewed ‘Festival Beers’ and 10 ‘Festival Ciders’ will be produced exclusively for GABS 2016 by the best Australian and New Zealand producers.

This year’s festival attendees can expect to see such unique ‘Festival Beers’ as the “Jam Donut” and the “Mexican Chocolate Stout”, with ingredients including cinnamon, jam, cocoa nibs and chipotle spices used to create incredible, one-off craft beers. In addition, over 400 types of beers and ciders will be available to try on the festival’s very own ‘sampling paddle’, a wooden paddle that provides attendees to sample their choice of brews and ponder the decadent flavors on their palate.

With craft beer and cider consumption steadily increasing in Australia, its no surprise that GABS continues to expand its reach, adding extra days onto their Melbourne and Sydney legs and appearing for the first time in New Zealand. Showcasing a host of notorious international, local and undiscovered, up and coming breweries and cideries, GABS meets the increasing demand for high-quality, uniquely styled drinks with a strong story behind them. Australia’s appreciation for quality crafted beer and cider has been manifested by the rapid growth in popularity of the GABS Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers annual poll, the largest poll of its kind in the country.

By educating attendants on the craft beer and cider industry, GABS stands out from other festivals, enriching every person’s experience with an immeasurable passion for the craft of artisan brewing and extensive knowledge and connection to the products they produce from every brewery, large and small.

GABS began with a beer between Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone, friends and co-founders of the renowned Local Taphouse beer bars in Melbourne and Sydney. In just four years GABS has became one of the top twenty beer festivals in the world, according to the prestigious American magazine, Beer Connoisseur - a great Aussie success story!

Celebrating the diversity of craft beer and cider, GABS features hundreds of beers, ciders, brewery stands, combined with outstanding local food vendors, education classes, circus performers, brilliant roaming musicians - and even a giant Ferris wheel in Melbourne – GABS is always a unique and fun festival experience.

More than 30,000 people are expected to attend the event this year with tickets on sale from March 18th, available from http://gabsfestival.com.
