Eclectic US rapper Tyga is following up the release of his lauded recent mixtape, Rawwest Nigga Alive, with a run of tour dates Down Under kicking off in April.
The Rawwest Alive tour will get under way at Melbourne's Festival Hall on Friday 8 April, heading to the Big Top at Luna Park, in Sydney, the following evening. From there, Tyga heads north and takes a few days off before fronting Brisbane's Eaton's Hill Hotel on Wednesday 13 April, turning around to hit Adelaide's Entertainment Centre on Thursday 14 April. He'll then round things out on the west coast, finishing the tour with a fittingly high-profile performance at Perth's HBF Stadium on Friday 15 April.
Tyga has worked with a litany of well-known contemporaries over the course of his eight-year career, including controversial artist Chris Brown, veteran rhyme-smith Snoop Dogg, the walking meme that is Drake, and the ever-entertaining Nicki Minaj. He's no slouch when it comes to standing on his own two legs, though, as the recent mixtape — which features guest spots from Brown as well as the likes of 2 Chainz, Rick Ross and Goapele — demonstrates.
In fact, the release, which bore three singles (Dope'd Up, Happy Birthday and Baller Alert), has done exceedingly solid business for the hip hop artist since its release in January, proving a more-than-worthy successor to his similarly lauded 2015 mixtape release, Fuk Wat They Talkin Bout..
